I would be a terrible hostess if I didn’t introduce you to the women whose training resources have come to be the ones on which I rely most heavily. I am hopelessly devoted to each of them and can’t thank them enough for how much they’ve taught me in such a short period of time. To say that I admire and appreciate each of them is definitely an understatement. If you haven’t done so already, please visit their sites and YouTube channels…they are amazing!
1. Melanie Ham – melaniekham.com
Melanie is the one who taught me how to quilt (no small feat!) and how to make some other pretty awesome items like simple tote bags, pouches, and trinket trays. I will forever miss her bright smile and sweet demeanor.
2. Debbie Shore – youtube.com/c/
I found Debbie’s YouTube channel when I was searching for sewing tutorials one day and I am so grateful that I did! I absolutely love her demos – and I have had multiple revelatory “a-ha!” moments watching them.
3. Yoan from Yoan Sewing Studio – yoansewingstudio.com
I am one of Yoan’s biggest fans! Her quiet, calm, VERY thorough tutorials are the stuff a new sewist’s dreams are made of! To this day, the purse I made my mother from one of Yoan’s tutorials is still her absolute favorite.
4. Dana from Made Everyday – madeeveryday.com
Dana is such a delightful ball of energy! Her tutorials are truly inspiring and her cheerleader-style persona is so appreciated by those of us who are trying to learn something new. I am beyond thankful for her demo on how to sew a zipper – great tips that I use regularly!
5. Diane from Spencer Ogg Sewing Patterns – https://www.spencerogg.com/
From my first viewing of one of Diane’s YouTube videos, it was easy to see why her patterns and tutorials are so beloved by her devotees! I count myself among her admirers and love reading all the posts that are shared in her Facebook group.
